Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 at the Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci aged six. Her first competition was in the National Junior Championships in which she finished 13th in the year 1969. In 1970, she was crowned champion. She took home three golds at her debut competition, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972 for communist countries. The following year, 1973 as well as 1974, she was the junior all-round champion. In her first international competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning four gold medals as well as one silver. The first female to do a reverse double salo on the parallel bar that was uneven after winning the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she began her career in the entertainment industry performing as a figure skater. Along with her younger twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a professional as an entertainer in her teens. In her early years she was a figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured ice skating shows which included stage performances.
