Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on television. The role she played earned her an Emmy nod for the best supporting Actress category. She also was awarded two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by the cast of a comedy.
Her birthplace and childhood was within Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna's mother Anne was a performer in dramas at church in her younger years, and this instilled an passion for theater.
She is a trained actress who returned to theater after The Office. In Off-Broadway's play Reasons To Be Happy composed by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was the lead. Her role was later reprised at the premiere world-wide of Steve Martin's newest show Meteor Shower, an absurdist comedy opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg, for a record-breaking performance on The Old Globe Theatre.
In the month of October, Fischer and The Office actor and friend Angela Kinsey began the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to gained immense popularity, settling on the Top Ten globally every week and registering more than 200 million downloads in the first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year in January 2021.
She's the author of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey), in which her tale of relocating to St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming an actor is detailed.
